Medical-based Escape Room and Workshops for Young People

18 June 2026

The University of Derby is excited to bring a range of hands-on healthcare workshops to young people attending Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programmes across Derby and Derbyshire through its Recognising Potential Programme.

One of the most popular activities is the Medical Escape Room – an interactive challenge where young people work together to solve clues, tackle healthcare-themed puzzles and put their problem-solving skills to the test. Previous sessions have been a huge hit with both HAF leaders and participants.

Alongside the escape room, young people may also get the chance to try practical healthcare activities such as learning basic life support skills and using microscopes to explore blood cells up close, giving them a fun and memorable insight into the world of healthcare.

This summer, the University of Derby is offering one-off workshops lasting between 2 and 4 hours. Activities can be tailored to suit the age range, group size, and interests of the young people attending, as well as staff availability on your chosen dates.

If you would like the University of Derby to visit your HAF programme this summer, please complete the application by 30 June 2026. APPLY NOW.
