Activator Essentials
The workshop provides an introduction to Activation in your setting. By the end of this workshop you will understand the principles of activation, describe your audience and where to find them, identify ways to adapt activities and tasks to suit the audience, understand the skills and qualities of an activator.
Keeping Young People Safe in Community Sport
This workshop uses specific examples and scenarios taken from the community sport context, learners will have the opportunity to discuss and explore key topics including welfare, safeguarding, child abuse and radicalisation. Learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of the importance of early intervention and identifying, responding and reporting concerns.
Providing a high quality food offer for your holiday club
An online session that will outline key considerations for providers offering food as part of your holiday club provision. The session will cover the following areas – minimum standards of food provision, hot and cold food offer considerations, managing children’s eating habits and preferences, plus healthy eating/healthy lifestyles enrichment opportunities.
The Boxing4Fitness Activator
The Boxing4Fitness Activator will provide volunteers, young people, community workers, leaders and sports coaches with the skills needed to deliver NON-CONTACT boxing for fitness sessions in their local community.

Dodgeball Activator
Developed by StreetGames and UK Dodgeball Association, the workshop provides learners with game ideas and the basic rules of dodgeball in order to introduce the sport to young people in their community. Participants combine their existing coaching and leadership skills and experience with the games and challenges in the workshop to learn how to engage young people in dodgeball for the first time.
Adverse Childhood Experiences Workshop
This workshop explores what is going on in a young person’s body, the short and longer-term impact this has on the behaviour and how we can make small changes by being Trauma-Informed to achieve better life outcomes for young people. The workshop explores ACEs and the impact it has on Young People’s health as well as our role in using sport to build resilience with a ‘Trauma Informed approach’.
Youth Mental Health First Aid Awareness
Join us as we discuss some of the common mental health issues affecting young people, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis. We cover the different skills to work more effectively with young people living with mental health challenges.
Responding to safeguarding incidents and complaints
If you work with children and/or vulnerable adults you are probably more likely to be caught up in a safeguarding incident or complaint than a few years back as cases seem to be on the rise. With this in mind, you should have clear procedures in place for how to recognise and respond to safeguarding issues. This session will provide some valuable tips based on experience to ensure you are better prepared.
SEN Learning and Sharing Workshop
The workshop covers how to get the best information from families about the Special Educational Needs (SEN) of participants, learn about the wider needs of SEN children and the different types of SEN and sharing scenarios with other providers and working together on solutions.
Additional training
Level 2 Food Hygiene
Essential for all providers. Level 2 Food Hygiene is designed for anyone who works with, or handles food and covers an introduction to food safety and hygiene, the impact of food-borne illnesses, food law, food preservation, storage and temperature control, personal hygiene, and the principles of HACCP.
Food Allergy and Intolerance Training
This interactive training has been developed by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to educate businesses about food allergies and how to handle allergens safely.
First Aid Workshops
If you organisation has First Aid training needs, please get in touch. There is potential to fund up to 2 spaces per organisation.
GDPR
During this online course provided by High Speed Training learners will learn about the scope of the legislation and what the GDPR aims to achieve, the main principles of data protection that all organisations must abide by to comply with the law, and understand what rights data subjects have under the GDPR and how to acknowledge these.
The training consists of 3 modules and will take approximately 1 hour to complete, learners will be issued with an electronic certificate of completion. Only 2 codes per organisation are available, which will be sent within 4 days of the request.
