Understanding Young People from Low Socioeconomic Groups
This workshop will bring to life research to help learners gain a better understanding of some of the issues that influence young people’s lives and how this can have an impact on their sports participation levels. This interactive workshop will draw upon experiences in the room, challenging learners to think about the young people they work with and the wider issues that they face on a day-to-day basis.
Risk Assessments for Youth Programmes
Using specific examples and scenarios taken from the community sport context, learners will have the opportunity to discuss and explore key topics including welfare, safeguarding, child abuse and radicalisation. Learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of the importance of early intervention and identifying, responding and reporting concerns.

This session provides a space to look at foundational principles of inclusion, the Doorstep Sport methodology & psychological ABCs, followed by tools for engagement.
Data Protection on Trips and Tours

Help avoid falling foul of the ICO and the hefty fines that can follow with the tips we will share on this session about how to manage sensitive customer data during activities, travel and programme delivery.
